American Plumbing & Electrical Supply is locally owned and operated by Max Gross and his three sons; Howard, Bruce and Andrew. The company was started in 1966 when Jack Katz and Max Gross purchased the store from the previous owner. After Jack’s passing in 1992, Max has continued to run the business.
It all started with a single story 15’x40’ building, but in 1968 we moved to our present location. We’ve continually grown, adding a 4-story additional building in 1974 and several years later we bought the property next door, which includes another 4 story building, extra storage, and a parking lot for a total of 77,000 square feet. We started as a 5-employee hardware, electrical and plumbing store and have developed into a lumber, building supplies, and heavy equipment supplier with around 45 employees.
